EUREKA BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL

 ,   Add to calendar
 Eureka-Wildwood  See map

Every year, at the Eureka Holiday Inn, they have a really cool indoor bluegrass festival.  It's coming up THIS weekend, Jan. 7 & 8.   Lots of bluegrass fans get a room, bring the kids so they can swim, and spend the whole weekend.   Musicians and their families wander through the hotel, reminesce, get a pizza delivered, or dine in at Haymarket. Then they find a group they want to pick with, and just join in.  Jam sessions may form in the holidome, in the foyer, in the hallways, even in the parking lots if it's warm enough. Every year, there are new musicians coming to this, from all over Missouri.  It's neat to see how many young people there are, new fiddlers and banjo players. They have a stage show and a contest.  It's free to get in, but you have to pay to get into the stage show held in the banquet hall.       http://www.bluegrassamerica.com/Resources/EurekaJan2011.pdf

Alright, I've inquired with the Wildwood's planning and public work's director and received someRead More answers. It's not being used by MoDOT nor are there any solid plans to develop it in the near future. His guess was that the property owner is farming it to obtain a lesser property tax assessment.
