I worked as a reporter for more than 20 years in newspaper, radio and television specializing in government and business journalism.

Some of my beats included city halls in St. Louis and Kansas City and the state legislatures in Missouri, Illinois and Kansas. From 1986-89, I was the Media Critic for the Suburban Journals of Greater St. Louis and also was one of their wire editors and spent nearly a year as their interim Central News Service sports editor. I've also worked at ABC 30 News, Computraffic/St. Louis News Plus, KMOX, KSD and KXOK radio. In 1999, I won a Edward R. Murrow Excellence in Journalism award while working as the chief political reporter for Newsradio 980 KMBZ in Kansas City.

Outside of journalism, I worked on the Danner for Congress campaign and was the consultant to the Citizens Against Prop N initiative in 2009.

In addition to news reporting, I also worked as a sportscaster doing play-by-play for SIU-Carbondale,  the University of Illinois and Danville Suns of the Class A Midwest League, affiliated with the California Angels.  I am a former member of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) and retired from Hazelwood Bowl in the prestigious St. Louis Traveling Masters League. When not on the lanes, I teach the game and have a Unites States Bowling Congress Silver Certificate. In my career, I have bowled 32 300 games and 9 800 series.

I currently run a private media consulting company specializing in covergent communications, www.provergent.com
