Pet-acular Holiday Bazaar Welcomes Pet Lovers This Weekend

WATCH VIDEO PREVIEW: This unique animal lovers' holiday event will be held at Purina Farms in Gray Summit, which is located 10 minutes west of Six Flags St. Louis near Eureka off of Interstate 44. Free photos of dogs with Santa will be available.

Man's best friends living in the St. Louis metropolitan area have a special place to go to be included in holiday festivities in a creative way. An indoor, dog-friendly event is being hosted this Saturday and Sunday at Purina Farms in Gray Summit, just 10 to 15 minutes from Eureka off of Interstate 44. The third annual event will be held between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on both Dec. 8 and 9. No reservations are required, but dogs must be leashed and up-to-date on all vaccinations with a visible rabies tag. The event includes: Diane Bettis, with Purina Farms, said the 13,000 square feet of space dedicated to kids is very popular, especially the trackless train, bounce houses and holiday craft stations.

With children being out of school, many area residents seek ways to stay active and engaged. Take advantage of the several free activities in and around St. Louis.

Furry Family Fun Defines Purina Farms

Visit Purina Farms this summer for free family fun just outside St. Louis County.

Purina Farms is fun day trip for dog-loving families, especially those with young children. The demonstration farm is run by Nestle-Purina, which has its North American headquarters in St. Louis. It’s a great place to take little ones to learn about pets and farm animals. The 300-acre farm is located in Gray Summit, about 14 miles west of Eureka. There are two distinct areas of the farm: the Visitor’s Center and the new Purina Event Center, which opened in 2010. Purina Farms has been offering tours since 1926 and it attracts an average of 135,000 visitors a year.
