Weird News: Jilted Boyfriend Seeks Police Shoulder, Gets DWI Instead

Burglar Foils Unsecure Security Camera A burglar turned around a security camera and apparently deleted any potentially incriminating images Jan. 7 at a Fenton home after breaking into the residence by using a landscaping stone to break the front entry door sidelight. A coin collection was stolen. The homeowner told a sheriff's deputy she had left home at approximately 5:20 p.m. Upon her return said she observed the left front door side light was shattered and most of the glass removed, according to the deputy's report. Due to three previous burglaries in the recent past, The homeowner had placed a "trail cam" on a bookshelf after the previous burglaries, Police discovered the camera had been turned around facing the back of the shelving …

Man Leaves Behind Alcohol-Soaked Underwear After Airport Bar Break-In

The man broke into the Pasta House restaurant at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport and raided the bar.

A man was arrested by Lambert-St. Louis International Airport security agents after he broke into a closed Pasta House restaurant, leaving his cell phone and alcohol-soaked underwear behind. David M. LaPrade, 24 of Southampton, MA, was charged with second-degree burglary and property damage. (Get news updates also by liking Eureka-Wildwood Patch on Facebook and following on Twitter.) Airport police said LaPrade was caught on security cameras as he tore a security gate off its hinges to get into the closed restaurant Sunday evening. For the "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished" File A Valley Park woman who gave a ride to a couple, one of whom was walking with the aid of a walker, on a cold, windy day Nov. 11, had her car stolen and subsequently wrecked by the man she was trying to help. St. Louis County Police said the woman gave a ride to a 34-year-old man, who was using a broken walker, and his female companion. The Good Samaritan woman offered to give them a ride and told them she had a walker at her home, which she no longer needed, and would give it to them. She drove the couple to her home and left her keys in the car with the motor running. St. Louis County Police said the man then jumped into the driver's seat and took the car. Man Eats Store's Chicken After Stuffing Vodka in Pants

Chicken-Eating Vodka Thief The store security staff at Dierbergs Market in Arnold watched a man stuff four bottles of Absolut vodka down his pants Sept. 30 and then walk through the store eating chicken from the deli, according to police. When the man tried to leave the store, the security staff tried to stop him and the man kicked them. He was booked and held. A Man Walks Into a Bar A St. Peters man walked into a sports bar on Jungermann Road Oct. 15 and slugged a complete stranger who was watching television. This crime roundup is collected from various incidents reported by police departments around the St. Louis area Too Early for Yelling and Honking A woman who was in her front yard in the Riverside subdivision in Fenton at 3 a.m. Sept. 11, and was yelling and honking her vehicle horn, was issued a peace disturbance summons. Ultra Huffing in the Woods The first clue that a man had been inhaling Ultra Duster was when police found him passed out in the woods on Sept. 14 with three cans of the compressed air product lying nearby, according to Fenton police. Weird Crimes: Thief Steals Van That Needs Tires, Gas

Stolen Van Needed Gas, Tires A Ferguson man is facing criminal charges for stealing a van that not only needed gas, but apparently tires as well. He also was charged with stealing eight tires from Dobbs Tire and Auto. Florissant Police said the man stole a 1994 GMC conversion van from a Johnny Londoff Chevrolet lot sometime between July 29 and Aug. 1. The van belonged to an employee at the car dealership. Police said man also broke into Dobbs Tire and Auto, and stole eight tires valued at $1,593. He was identified through surveillance tapes at Dobbs and at a Quik Trip gas station where he bought gas for the van, according to court documents. All in the Family An unidentified 15-year-old used a gun to hold up a gas station in Chesterfield Aug. 26. He was turned in to police by his father, police said. A son asked his mother for some money Aug. 23 in the parking lot of Neighbors Credit Union in Fenton after she had cashed her paycheck. He became upset when she refused to give him any money so he stole the money from her hand and ran off. A 34-year-old St. Peters man was charged with pushing, hitting and kicking his mother Aug. 24, sending her to the hospital for her injuries. His grandmother witnessed the attack. Pot Grower Has Bedroom Farm A St. Charles County teenager faces a criminal drug charge for growing marijuana in his home after the St. Charles County Drug Task Force searched his home Monday. The 17-year-old St. Charles teen was charged Aug. 14 with distributing a controlled substance and illegal use of drug paraphernalia. Drug Task Force detectives said they found six marijuana plants growing in the teen's bedroom and an upstairs room, along with grow lights and other cultivating material. Some of the plants were more than 5 feet tall, according to the report. Landlords Go Bad Police arrested an Oakville landlord for assault in the first degree. What the Well-Dressed Bad Guy Wears A woman in Arnold reported a man dressed like a ninja entered her home, went into the bedroom, stole a computer, iPhone, iPad and $1,000 in cash. He then fled. St. Peters police officers were asked to keep an eye on car washes on patrol routes after a string of burglaries at the businesses when a man showed up at a car wash July 18 wearing a ski mask and carrying a crowbar. Wearing a ski mask in the middle of a heat wave didn't add up. A police officer on a stakeout across the street from the car wash thought so, too.
