College Student from Eureka Teaches Preschool Children About Trees

College students representing the Knowing the Woods Club also assisted the preschoolers with drawing Christmas trees.

Much to the delight of Missouri-based Fulton Preschool children, members of the Knowing the Woods Club at William Woods University (WWU) recently presented a program about trees. Eureka native Brittany Lenhart was one of the WWU student participants. WWU students provided an educational program for the youngsters, and read Lois Ehlert's book, "Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf." After the reading, the preschoolers entertained the William Woods students by performing a song and dance about falling leaves. This was the third year members of Knowing the Woods presented a tree-related program to the youngsters as a service-learning project, and Lenhart said group members are looking forward to planning and participating in future events. College Student From Wildwood Selected for Honor Society

Wildwood resident Brooke Thibodaux is busy with community service as well as college courses these days.

Leaders of the Order of Omega chapter at William Woods University in Fulton, MO, recently selected 13 new members to be a part of their elite honor society, including Brooke Thibodaux, an Alpha Chi Omega member from Wildwood. Order of Omega is a national honor society that continues to recognize outstanding Greek members for their academics, leadership in their chapter and in the community, according to a William Woods news release. Students eligible for Order of Omega must be in good standing with one of the Greek chapters on campus. They must maintain a grade point average above the all-Greek average and have at least 60 college credits, 30 of which from William Woods.
