Recycling Holiday Lights Drive Starts Saturday
St. Louis Green announces the 2012 Holiday Light Recycling Drive kicks off Saturday at Walmarts. A portion of proceeds from recycled lights are donated to Operation Food Search.
Last year, St. Louis Green collected 64,000 pounds of unwanted holiday lights, which then were recycled and sent back to manufacturers to be used in new products. Not only does the Holiday Light Recycling Drive divert thousands of pounds of waste from area landfills, it also helps feed the hungry. A portion of proceeds from the drive is donated to Operation Food Search, helping those less fortunate to have a happier holiday season.
