Toys for Tots Drive Ends Next Friday

A Marines' Toys for Tots toy drive is again being conducted this year in Eureka. Have you donated?

A total of 31 collection boxes for the Marines' Toys for Tots drive are out in Eureka this year, about a third more than last year. Organizers hope to collect more than 1,000 toys for children in need in the greater St. Louis area.   Marines are scheduled to pick up the toys from Eureka at The Wallach House on Friday, Dec. 14, from noon to 1 p.m. Laurie Price, of the Wallach House, said at least one uniformed Marine and some representatives from the Semper Fi society will attend that day. "Our city leaders will be present to represent the members of the community without whom we could not offer such a great donation to the campaign," said Price. She said shoppers' surprises and discount opportunities will be circulated around the store. Eureka Board of Aldermen Approve Event Applications

All the events are scheduled for next month.

Three events set for September received approval from the Eureka board of aldermen during its Tuesday night meeting. All of the special events applications were unanimously approved. Alderman Shannon Britt was absent. The events are scheduled for next month: Vita Walsh, representing J.P's grill, addressed the board. In an interview after the board meeting, Walsh, mother of John Pedrolie, said the event in late September is meant to boost customer engagement.
