Wow. Okay, and not paying deserves getting his face kicked in? And, by your last comment, I will stand by my racially motivated crime comment. I don't think this has anything to do with Larry's and don't know why anyone would assume this. As someone stated earlier, this is a case of a bar fight, but one gone terribly wrong. It doesn't matter where it happened, it just matters that it did and that…   more ›

Wildwood Police Warn of Phone Scams

Read these tips. St. Louis County Police Department-Wildwood officers warn residents to be wary of calls about alleged Publishers Clearing House winnings. Authorities say it may be a scam, and advise residents not to give out information.

In the most current Wildwood neighborhood watch newsletter, officers Jamie Reiter and Brad Wood stated they recently were notified by a Wildwood resident who received a call from someone who they initially believed to be representing the Publishers Clearing House. But something about the call didn't seem right. An immediate question that comes to mind is:  Did you enter the Publishers' sweepstakes? If not, then suspicion should immediately increase. In the recent case, the caller required personal information and a financial transaction for them to be able to take them up on the offer, the officers stated in the newsletter. The Wildwood resident declined the phone offer, and checked into scams identifying themselves as Publishers Clearing …

Read about this publisher's clearing house at http://www.callercenter.com/516-506-0055.html way back March last year when I looked up 5165060055. I got 5 missed calls from that number but I didn't want to return the call, not knowing who's behind it so I decided to Google it instead. Well, good thing I was unable to answer any of the calls. It's only gonna waste my time anyway.   more ›

It's 11 p.m.—Know Where the Children Are?

The last days of "summer freedom" prompt more hanging out. Are you aware of when curfews are in Wildwood and Eureka, per city codes?

Did you know curfew for persons under the age of 17 is 11 p.m. in Wildwood Sunday through Thursday? And that the curfew is midnight for Friday and Saturday nights? St. Louis County Police Department-Wildwood (6th) Precinct Neighborhood Police Officer Jamie Reiter indicated in the recent Neighborhood Watch Letter that as curfew violations go up, accident numbers increase as well as larcencies and trespassing. Youths caught out after curfews are taken to the police station and must be picked up by parents or guardians. "It's a good idea to remind our teenage drivers to take it easy on the pedal and to not overload their vehicles with passsengers," Reiter stated in the letter. Reiter also encouraged reminding youths that Wildwood's many parks…
