Splish, Splash—Spending Soggy Cash at Annual Eureka Garage Sale

More than 450 vendors set up for Saturday's annual garage sale and swap meet in Eureka, and shoppers came streaming in, even during the second down-pour of rain.

Despite steady showers that started at 4:15 a.m.-ish Saturday, vendors and shoppers alike supported the 6th annual Eureka Chamber of Commerce garage sale and swap meet on the parking lot of Six Flags St. Louis, 4900 Six Flags Road in Eureka. Editor's Note:  In volunteering for the 5-8 a.m. volunteer shift for the event, I saw license plates from Illinois and Arkansas, and as far away as Colorado. Proceeds go toward the Eureka High School scholarship fund. Many thanks to the multitudes of shoppers who donated more than the $1 per vehicle entry fee, especially when they found out who the recipient of proceeds was.
