A variety of issues and requests were voiced by Rockwood School District parents and taxpayers at the board of education meeting Thursday, including a call for the resignation of Superintendent Bruce Borchers.
A variety of concerns were voiced by parents and taxpayers during the patrons' comments portion of the Rockwood School District board of education meeting Thursday at Crestview Middle School in Ellisville. It was the second board meeting at which the patrons' comments intentionally were moved by the board of directors to close to the meeting's beginning so that attendees could be heard sooner, rather than later. Approximately 15 people who attended the first 30 minutes of the Rockwood School District board of education governance retreat in Eureka on June 25 and had spoken one-on-one with district directors and staff that morning then met in the parking lot to share their views and questions. The retreat was held at the district's Administrative Center building. Tonight, Rockwood's board of education (BOE) directors will have the other half of their retreat. Some Rockwood-related residents indicated they would like to engage the directors again at this meeting. However, BOE director Matt Doell, in comments posted on Eureka-Wildwood Patch, reminded residents that directors would be available before or after …
