75% of Rockwood's Commended Scholars are Lafayette, Eureka Seniors

Thirty of the 40 Rockwood School District high school seniors just named Commended Scholars in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program attend Eureka and Lafayette High schools.

Of the 40 Rockwood School District high school seniors named Commended Scholars in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program, 30 hail from the district's Eureka- and Wildwood-based high schools. 68% of Rockwood's National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists are from Eureka, Wildwood

Twenty-five new Rockwood School District seniors achieved Semifinalist standing in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program, according to a district announcement. The majority of those students attend either Lafayette High School in Wildwood or Eureka High School. The recipients include: About 1.5 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2013 National Merit Scholarship competition when they took the 2011 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), which served as an initial screen of program entrants.
