Car Crash into Wildwood Garage Rattles Lake Chesterfield Residents
When the driver of a vehicle sped through and hopped a curb during morning walk time at Lake Chesterfield subdivision in Wildwood Thursday morning, neighbors say they are just thankful no teen swimmers or people were injured.
A vehicle driven by a young male left the roadway at a high speed at the 400 block of Waterside Drive in Wildwood Thursday between 7:45 a.m. to 8 a.m., hopped the curb and crashed into a detached garage in the Lake Chesterfield subdivision. Both the driver and his passenger were injured, and were taken to a hospital by ambulance. St. Louis County Police Department-Wildwood Precinct officers said the driver was taken into custody and charges are pending. Residents told Patch they estimated the car to be traveling 70 mph. The impact pushed a Cadillac Escalade partially out of the hit garage and sprayed debris, including bricks, for 40 to 50 feet.
