Jimmy John's Opens for Business Tuesday in Eureka

VIDEO and Photo Gallery: All the inspections now are done and the new Jimmy John's team can begin their freaky fast service.

A trial run for family, friends and supporters of the new Jimmy John's gourmet sandwich shop in Eureka was conducted Saturday. Franchisee owners Kevin and Dan Morrell greeted a steady stream of eager sandwich connoisseurs. Kevin said the shop's hours will be 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., although they may consider longer hours during peak Six Flags St. Louis times. Dan said they also may consider extending the drive-through service time, depending on customers' requests. The new sandwich shop has hired 37 employees. All the bread is baked fresh at the shop, and cannot be more than four hours old, according to Jimmy John's corporate standards, Dan said. He said Jimmy John's expectations are that customers receive their order within 15 to 20 minutes …

Peek Inside New Jimmy John's in Eureka

This week may be the one in which the "freaky fast" sandwich spot opens in Eureka.

Eureka is getting closer to having a Jimmy John's gourmet sandwich shop. Depending on final inspections from Jimmy John's corporate staff, St. Louis County and Eureka officials, this could be the week the shop franchisees get the green light to open. The real problem is that after we drove there to get it corrected with the receipt (which correctly showed the order as we wanted). The Manager argued that it was our fault that we didn't get the right order, and didn'…   more ›

Jimmy John's Looking Black and White

The outer hull of the new Jimmy John's restaurant location in Eureka is coming along from DQ red and white to predominantly black now.

Construction crews working on the new Jimmy John's gourmet sandwich location in Eureka told Patch the building may be a month away from completion. But winter weather obviously could affect a completion date. Jimmy John's corporate headquarters staff confirmed the Eureka location is a privately owned franchise. A staffer at the Jimmy John's in Ballwin said Eureka's location was not owned by the same franchisee.
