Missouri Route 109 Widening Among New MoDOT Road Construction Projects

The projects cost nearly $211 million, and will include road and lane closures around the St. Louis area that begin next week.

Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) crews have a busy year planned for road construction in the St. Louis area. Tuesday, MoDOT officials unveiled detailed plans for five major projects around the St. Louis area in 2013 that total nearly $211 million.  "So it's a significant amount of money we're about to spend on roads around the state, around the region," said Ed Hassinger, MoDOT District Engineer for the St. Louis region. Details for another project along Interstate 70 in St. Peters at Mid Rivers Mall Drive will come later this year. You think this will be a mess. Jeff. County Planning & Zoning just approved building an apartment/gas station complex in a flood plain at the other end of 109 & W with 3 driveways from 109 to the bridge into Eureka - accidents waiting to happen!
