A House Springs woman was taken to the hospital after her car struck a median in Jefferson County.
Mary Dayton, a House Springs resident, was driving southbound on Interstate 55 on Tuesday, when she lost control of her car near mile marker 185 at 10:41 a.m., and hit the median. Dayton, 63, was driving a 2005 Honda Civic, which was towed from the accident scene. She was wearing a safety belt, according to authorities. She was taken to by a Jefferson County Ambulance crew to St. Anothony's Hospital. No other drivers or vehicles were involved in this accident, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

A young girl from Eureka was taken to the hospital after the sports utility vehicle she was in Sunday left the roadway.
During Sunday morning's snow storm, Joshua Curtis, 35, of Eureka, was driving his 1999 Chevrolet Suburban southbound on Highway W in Jefferson County. Joushua's sports utility vehicle (SUV) left the roadway, south of Patty Drive, at 9:20 a.m. He told Missouri State Highway Patrol officers he was attempting to avoid another vehicle in front of his truck. Kristen Curtis, a 4-year-old passenger in the truck, was taken to St. Clare Health Center by a Big River Ambulance crew. Joshua was not injured, according to the accident report. Both Curtis' had seat belts on. His SUV received moderate damage.

A House Springs woman received moderate injuries in an early Thursday morning accident on Interstate 44 near Eureka.
A 28-year-old House Springs woman was taken to Mercy Hospital for moderate injuries after the sports utility vehicle she was in overturned at 4:10 a.m. Thursday on Interstate 44 near Eureka. Rene Harrison was a passenger in a 2002 Chevrolet Tracker, which was driven by Union resident Anthony Sansone. Sansone is 25 years old. He was driving westbound on I-44, east of mile marker 259.4, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report, when he said he swerved to the left to avoid a deer in the roadway. Sansone's SUV then struck the concrete median wall, and overturned on the right side. Both SUV occupants were wearing seat belts, officials stated. An early Monday morning, one-vehicle accident sends three family members to the hospital.
Three family members were taken to Mercy Hospital after a one-vehicle accident on eastbound Interstate 44 at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. Monica Skelton, 40, from Rogers, AR, was driving her 2004 Chevrolet Silverado truck eastbound on Interstate 44 at mile marker 232 when she lost control. Passengers were 6-year-old Olivia Skelton and 11-year-old Pierson Skelton. The driver exited the roadway and struck the median, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol, before she overcorrected and re-entered the interstate. The truck then overturned. The driver was wearing a safety belt, according to authorities. Her truck was totaled and towed from the accident scene.

A one-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon sends a local driver airborne and then to the hospital with serious injuries.
Travis Dunn, a 34-year-old driver from Pacific, was southbound on Route OO Tuesday when his 2006 Chevrolet Express ran off the right side of the roadway near Guenther Lane around 2:56 p.m. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the van then became airborne, traveled over a creek and struck an embankment. Dunn's van then returned to the roadway and overturned, ejecting him. The van eventually stopped, resting on the passenger's side, facing eastward. Highway patrol officers indicated Dunn was not wearing a safety belt. He was taken, with serious injuries, to Mercy Hospital by a Meramec Ambulance crew. His van was totaled and was towed away from the scene by the Hyndrich Brothers of Eureka.

An early Sunday morning one-vehicle accident near Antire Road in Eureka injured two.
Two men from Illinois were taken to the St. Clare Hospital by a Valley Park Fire Protection District emergency crew after a truck that one was driving left Interstate 44 near Eureka at 7:25 a.m. Sunday and overturned. Robby Porter, a 44-year-old driver from Flora, IL, was driving a 2008 Ford F150 westbound on Interstate 44 when the truck left the roadway, hit a sign and overturned east of Antire Road. Porter was wearing a safety belt, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, but both he and a passenger were taken to hospital for minor injuries. The truck was totaled. The passenger involved in this accident was Chad Sheraden, a 31-year-old resident of Kinmundy, IL.

A late afternoon accident on Saturday sent a Eureka male to the hospital for fairly serious injuries.
Eureka resident James Russo, 61, was driving his 2010 Infiniti EX35 on Missouri Route W when he left the roadway off the left side, about 0.3 mile south of Twin River Road, at approximately 4:25 p.m. Saturday. Russo's car was southbound on Route W. It struck a tree after veering off the road, and overturned, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. He was wearing a safety belt, according to authorities, but he received moderate injuries and was taken to St. Anthony's Medical Center by a Eureka Ambulance crew. His car was totaled.

A female House Springs driver was taken to the hospital after this early Monday morning accident.
A House Springs resident, Diana Young, 61, was traveling westbound on Route M in her 2007 Saturn Vue at 6:40 a.m. Monday when a driver from Dittmer, MO, was traveling northbound on Moss Hollow Road. Ryan Honea, 19, failed to yield to Young, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report about the accident. The front of Young's sport utility vehicle struck the right side of Honea's 1999 Saturn SL2. Young was taken to St. Anthony's Medical Center by a Rock Township Ambulance crew for what was deemed minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing safety belts, according to authorities. Young's SUV received extensive damage, while Honea's car suffered moderate damage; both vehicles were towed from the accident area.

It was really, really cold around midnight Saturday, and it would've been an awful feeling to rev from an auto into an icy lake. That nearly happened in Eureka at The Forest/Hillington Estates subdivision, located off Hilltop Ridge Road. Workers from the towing company on-site, Hyndrich Towing, said one hickory tree and a rocky ledge stopped a car, which had shot down a hill into the woods, from falling straight into the lake near the subdivision's entrance. "Just 5 feet more, and the car would have been in the water," said one of the towing personnel at the scene. A Eureka man was taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident early Sunday morning.
Two motorists were heading westbound on Interstate 44, west of Missouri Route 141, when one driver's car hit the back of the other at 1:20 a.m. Sunday, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. Eureka resident William Cooper, 51, was traveling at a high rate of speed, according to authorities, when his 2011 Nissan Altima hit the back of the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Dennis Barnes, a 42-year-old resident of Catoosa, OK. Both vehicles exited I-44 to the left. Cooper's car went under the median cables and came to rest facing eastbound in the westbound lanes of the interstate, stated Trooper A.J. Michels.
