Eureka Driver's Car Totaled at I-44 and MO Route 141

A Eureka man was taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident early Sunday morning.

Two motorists were heading westbound on Interstate 44, west of Missouri Route 141, when one driver's car hit the back of the other at 1:20 a.m. Sunday, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. Eureka resident William Cooper, 51, was traveling at a high rate of speed, according to authorities, when his 2011 Nissan Altima hit the back of the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Dennis Barnes, a 42-year-old resident of Catoosa, OK. Both vehicles exited I-44 to the left. Cooper's car went under the median cables and came to rest facing eastbound in the westbound lanes of the interstate, stated Trooper A.J. Michels. Eureka Residents Injured in Overturned Car Crash

Two Eureka residents were traveling along Route PP Monday morning when the driver lost control and overturned the car.

Two Eureka residents were injured in a car accident Monday at 7:05 a.m. Milton Barratta, 27, was driving northbound on Route PP, just south of Old Little Antire in Jefferson County, at a high rate or speed when he lost control of the car and drove off the road before overturning the car, stated a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. Barratta and his passenger, Barbara Parker, 48, sustained minor injuries in the accident. Both were taken to St. Anthony's Hospital by a Jefferson County ambulance crew.  Barratta was not wearing a safety belt, however Parker was, according to authorities. Barratta's 1995 Mitsubishi Gallant sustained extensive damage, the highway patrol reported.
