Eureka Driver's Car Totaled at I-44 and MO Route 141
A Eureka man was taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident early Sunday morning.
Two motorists were heading westbound on Interstate 44, west of Missouri Route 141, when one driver's car hit the back of the other at 1:20 a.m. Sunday, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. Eureka resident William Cooper, 51, was traveling at a high rate of speed, according to authorities, when his 2011 Nissan Altima hit the back of the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Dennis Barnes, a 42-year-old resident of Catoosa, OK. Both vehicles exited I-44 to the left. Cooper's car went under the median cables and came to rest facing eastbound in the westbound lanes of the interstate, stated Trooper A.J. Michels.
