Wildwood Candidates: Vote for Continuity or Change?

Several of the 13 Wildwood municipal candidates present at Thursday evening's forum spoke of the need for consensus building and fresh starts.

Thirteen of 16 possible candidates in Wildwood's April 3 municipal races attended a candidates' forum Thursday evening held at Wildwood City Hall. The forum, which was hosted by League of Women Voters' (LWV) volunteers, was witnessed by approximately 50 Wildwood residents. LWV representative Nancy Miller said the forum was "based on issues, not on personalities." Each candidate received 2 minutes for an introductory presentation, 1 minute to answer each question posed from attendees, and 1 minute for wrap-up comments. Filing for Wildwood City Election Opens Tuesday

Today at 8 a.m., candidates for next spring's election may begin filing. Candidates have until Jan. 17 to declare their intentions. This election will impact all eight of the city's wards.

Wildwood's mayoral position and all eight of the municipality's wards will be affected by the upcoming spring election. Filing for the April 3, 2012, Wildwood elections opens on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 8 a.m. and closes on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 5 p.m. Candidates can file between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, between the opening and closing dates, except for when City Hall will be closed for holidays on Dec. 23; Dec. 26; Jan. 2; and Jan. 16. A filing fee of $10 is required. Prior to filing for the offices of council members or mayor, candidates must complete a nominating petition and have it signed by no less than 25 registered voters of the residents of their Ward.
