High School Athletes from Eureka, Wildwood Sign College Intents

Wednesday was national "Signing Day" for graduating high school sports students who publicly declare their college intentions. Eureka High School activities director and assistant principal Jason Green said this year's list of the school's senior athletes signing with various college scholarships is the most he can remember in his 18-year tenure. With eight girls' soccer players signing for college-level soccer, Eureka parents thought it was the first time in the school's history that many varsity seniors from a particular sport were going on to the next level all at the same time. Lafayette High School activities director Steve Berry said $560,000 worth of sports scholarships were signed Wednesday at the school in Wildwood. He also said …
