LaSalle Springs Middle Named School of Character

Another Rockwood School District school becomes a 2013 Missouri School of Character.

LaSalle Springs Middle, along with Chesterfield Elementary, were two Rockwood School District schools named 2013 Missouri Schools of Character. These schools are two of only 15 schools in the state to earn a Missouri School of Character Award from the Character Education Partnership.  State Schools of Character are ones whose staff and students demonstrated a focus on character development that led to positive impacts on academic achievement, student behavior and school climate. “These schools have worked hard to earn this distinction, and we’re excited for them to be recognized as a state model for school climate,” said Jane Brown, Rockwood's director of differentiated services in a district announcement. 17 Rockwood Schools Earn 24 Promising Practices

Look how many Wildwood- and Eureka-based Rockwood School District schools earned special "Promising Practices" recognitions through the national Character Education Partnership

Seventeen Rockwood School District schools have secured 24 of the 297 Promising Practices awarded this year by the Character Education Partnership (CEP). Each year, CEP representatives recognize schools and districts from the United States and across the globe for their innovative practices in the area of character education.  To receive a Promising Practice, schools must demonstrate how they put one or more of the 11 Principles of Character Education into action. Blevins Elementary Becomes School of Character

Blevins Bobcats will celebrate this, along with Friendship Day, on Tuesday.

Blevins Elementary School in Eureka is one of only 12 schools in Missouri to receive a 2012 Missouri Schools of Character award by the Character Education Partnership. The award recognizes the level of excellence designated schools have achieved in the 11 principles of Effective Character Education.  To celebrate, Blevins will host an assembly Tuesday afternoon, which will include a presentation on the pillars of character by St. Louis magician, Abra-Kid-Abra. Lafayette, Eureka Students to be Honored

Rockwood School District board of education directors will host a districtwide special awards ceremony Thursday evening.

The following Lafayette and Eureka High School students will be honored Thursday evening at a special awards ceremony conducted by the Rockwood School District board of education directors and hosted by Superintendent Bruce Borchers. The ceremony will be held at Crestview Middle School in Ellisville.
