The new Cato Fashions store in Eureka may have contributed to the parent company's better finances.
Cato Corporation officials today reported sales of $103.9 million for the five weeks ended March 31, which is a 7 percent increase over sales of $97.4 million for the five-week period ended April 2, 2011, according to a PR Newswire release. The new Cato store in Eureka opened during the second full week of last month. Cato Fashions store fills in for women's and girls' clothing a couple doors down from where vacated Fashion Bug left off in the Eureka Towne Center. The store hired 7 to 10 new associates.
Cato launched its newest store this week, with Thursday being the official grand opening. The new store is located in 179 Eureka Towne Center (often called the Walmart Supercenter). Its currently full of lively pink, blue, coral, fucshia and turquoise colored products. Shoppers will find plenty of black-and-white anchoring type of selections, too. Cato is a leading specialty retailer of value-priced women’s fashion apparel, jewelry, shoes and accessories. The store features fashion styles in sizes 6 to 26 and girls’ sizes 7 to 16.
