A motorist who prompted a Eureka man to slow down on the southbound ramp of Interstate 270 to westbound Interstate 44 then left the scene of the accident.
A 22-year-old Eureka resident, Ryan Hinterleitner, was southbound on the Interstate 270 ramp heading toward westbound Interstate 44 Saturday morning when he told authorities he slowed down due to the vehicle ahead of him stopping. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report, Hinterleitner's 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe then began to slide on the wet roadway. Hinterleitner's sports utility vehicle (SUV) slid into the rear of the vehicle in front of him at 8:24 a.m. Saturday. The unknown driver of the other vehicle quickly left the scene of the accident. Hinterleitner was taken to St. Clare Health Center by a Fenton Fire Protection District emergency crew for what what was deemed minor injuries. The SUV received extensive damage…

A female House Springs driver was taken to the hospital after this early Monday morning accident.
A House Springs resident, Diana Young, 61, was traveling westbound on Route M in her 2007 Saturn Vue at 6:40 a.m. Monday when a driver from Dittmer, MO, was traveling northbound on Moss Hollow Road. Ryan Honea, 19, failed to yield to Young, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report about the accident. The front of Young's sport utility vehicle struck the right side of Honea's 1999 Saturn SL2. Young was taken to St. Anthony's Medical Center by a Rock Township Ambulance crew for what was deemed minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing safety belts, according to authorities. Young's SUV received extensive damage, while Honea's car suffered moderate damage; both vehicles were towed from the accident area.

A 16-year-old was taken to the hospital Sunday morning due to the following accident on Missouri Route 100.
A 16-year-old driver from Pacific, Ashley Whitmore, was driving a 2005 Buick Terraza minivan when it left the right side of the roadway near Missouri Route 100 and Highway OO. Whitmore returned to the roadway but overcorrected, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, causing the vehicle to go off the right side of the roadway again and overturn. The accident occurred at 8:10 a.m. Whitmore was transported to Mercy in Washington by a Meramec EMS crew. She was wearing a safety belt, according to authorities. Her minivan received moderate damage and was towed from the scene. She was the only vehicle involved in the accident, with no passengers.

A Eureka man was taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident early Sunday morning.
Two motorists were heading westbound on Interstate 44, west of Missouri Route 141, when one driver's car hit the back of the other at 1:20 a.m. Sunday, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. Eureka resident William Cooper, 51, was traveling at a high rate of speed, according to authorities, when his 2011 Nissan Altima hit the back of the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Dennis Barnes, a 42-year-old resident of Catoosa, OK. Both vehicles exited I-44 to the left. Cooper's car went under the median cables and came to rest facing eastbound in the westbound lanes of the interstate, stated Trooper A.J. Michels. Eureka-Wildwood Patch readers driving on Missouri Route 109 on Sunday around 10 a.m. were met with slow-going, due to an accident near Hidden Valley Ski Resort.
Slippery conditions due to Sunday's drizzle may have been a factor in an accident that occurred at Missouri Route 109 and Hidden Valley Forest in Wildwood. A driver from Arkansas overturned his car while heading north on Route 109, said a Wildwood police administrator. The driver told police he lost control and crossed the center line of the highway, then over-corrected. After that, he said he lost further control and the car eventually flipped. St. Louis County Police Department-Wildwood (6th) Precinct officers said the driver was not injured. On Friday, Eureka-Wildwood Patch reported an accident that occurred Wednesday on Highway FF, just .10 mile north of Project Road in Franklin County. Ironically, on Friday, another one-vehicle accident occurred at the very same place, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol sources. Highway FF in Franklin County is not that far from Eureka. Highway FF in Jefferson County, which borders Eureka, has been deemed one of Missouri's most dangerous two-lane roadways, resulting in several fatalities in the past few years. This fatal accident occurred on Interstate 44 at 4:50 a.m. Saturday, just east of Union, MO.
One person died, and three others were injured, after a tractor trailer and two vehicles collided on eastbound Interstate 44 (I-44) Saturday morning. The accident happened at 4:50 a.m. just east of the Union, MO, exit on I-44 at mile marker 248.6 in Franklin County. This area is about 20 miles west of Eureka. Diaael Saker, 25, of Kenner, LA, lost control of his 2012 Kenworth tractor trailer and ran off the north/left side of the road, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. Saker over-corrected and the trailer rolled over, troopers indicated. Two motorists following the tractor trailer attempted to stop, but slid into the trailer, according to authorities. A young female was taken to the hospital Tuesday after hitting a utility pole.
Kelly Pool was attempting to make a right-hand turn at 6204 Highway PP while traveling north in a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan when she lost control of the minivan and exited Route PP to the left. The accident occurred at 8:12 a.m. Tuesday. Per a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Pool's minivan struck a mailbox and utility pole. She was taken to St. Anthony's Hospital by a North Jefferson County Ambulance crew. Pool is a 23-year-old resident of House Springs. She was wearing a safety belt, according to authorities. Her minivan received extensive damage and was towed from the accident scene. There were no other drivers, passengers or vehicles involved.

Melissa Banks, a 19-year-old driver from Pacific, was transported to Mercy Washington by a Meramec Emergency Management Service crew on Monday after the 1997 Toyota Corolla she was driving traveled off the right side of the Highway N, north of Frisco Drive, at 1:56 a.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol report about this accident indicates Banks overcorrected, then traveled off the left side of the roadway and hit a fence and a parked vehicle. She sustained "moderate injuries," according to the report. Her car received extensive damage, and was towed by Eureka-based Hyndrich Brothers Towing. She was not wearing a safety belt, according to authorities. There were no passengers or other drivers involved in this accident.

Authorities indicate the accident was a result of the driver overcorrecting while traveling on northbound Interstate 55.
Wildwood resident Robin Baker was driving her 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix northbound on Interstate 55 in Ste. Genevieve County Friday when her car exited the road to the left at 11:55 a.m. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Baker overcorrected and the Grand Prix then exited the right side of the interstate before striking a rock bluff and overturning. The accident occurred at mile marker 158. Baker, 57, had a 3-year-old Ballwin resident, Mason Spencer, in the car at the time of the accident.
