A local woman was thrown from her car during Sunday's snow-shower weather.
After 48-year-old Ruth Luedde, a Eureka resident, failed to negotiate a curve to the left on Twin River Road Sunday afternoon, her 1999 Saturn SL2 traveled off the right side of the roadway. The car then struck a rock and overturned. Luedde, who has not wearing a seat belt, was ejected. The accident happened at 1:09 p.m., just east of River Bend Drive in Jefferson County. Luedde had been traveling eastbound. She was taken by a North Jefferson County Ambulance crew to St. Anthony's Medical Center for injuries sustained in the accident. Her car received extensive damage, and was towed from the scene. No other motorists or passengers were involved in the accident.

The driver in this one-car accident was not wearing a safety belt, according to authorities.
Melissa Banks, a 19-year-old driver from Pacific, was transported to Mercy Washington by a Meramec Emergency Management Service crew on Monday after the 1997 Toyota Corolla she was driving traveled off the right side of the Highway N, north of Frisco Drive, at 1:56 a.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol report about this accident indicates Banks overcorrected, then traveled off the left side of the roadway and hit a fence and a parked vehicle. She sustained "moderate injuries," according to the report. Her car received extensive damage, and was towed by Eureka-based Hyndrich Brothers Towing. She was not wearing a safety belt, according to authorities. There were no passengers or other drivers involved in this accident.

Authorities indicate the accident was a result of the driver overcorrecting while traveling on northbound Interstate 55.
Wildwood resident Robin Baker was driving her 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix northbound on Interstate 55 in Ste. Genevieve County Friday when her car exited the road to the left at 11:55 a.m. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Baker overcorrected and the Grand Prix then exited the right side of the interstate before striking a rock bluff and overturning. The accident occurred at mile marker 158. Baker, 57, had a 3-year-old Ballwin resident, Mason Spencer, in the car at the time of the accident. Spencer was taken by an air-evacuation team to St. Louis Children's Hospital, according to the accident report. Baker was taken to Jefferson Memorial Medical Center by a Ste. When a driver from Fenton changed lanes to pass an unknown driver in Jefferson County Monday afternoon, he caused a head-on collision with a motorist from Labadie and her passenger.
After Fenton resident Shaun Frost, 32, attempted to pass another vehicle while heading southbound on Route NN at Moon Dance Lane in Jefferson County at 1:30 p.m. Monday, he collided head-on with a driver from Labadie who was heading northbound. Labadie resident Leslie Giles, 53, was driving her 2003 Ford Explorer, with Lynn Garner, 51, a passenger and also a Labadie resident. Frost was driving a 2002 Saturn SL1. Frost was not wearing his safety belt, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol report. Giles and Garner were wearing their belts. All three people involved with the accident received minor injuries, and were taken to St. Anthony's Medical Center by a Big River Ambulance crew. The Saturn was totaled.
