Unlocked Autos Make Stealing Easy

POLICE LOG Dec. 3-9: A heavy number of accidents occurred in Wildwood in the past week, especially at select same spots on Missouri Route 109—and on the same day! Police also processed two burglaries and a case of fraud.

Following are recent incidences handled by St. Louis County Police Department-Wildwood (6th) Precinct officers: Dec. 3: An accident occurred on Shepard at Missouri Route 109; no injuries resulted. Police received areport of a burglary on Crown Pointe Estates, at which unknown persons broke into the house and took two computers. A traffic stop on Thunderhead Canyon and Westglen Farms resulted in the driver being arrested for outstanding warrants. An accident happened on Shepard Road; no injuries resulted. Dec. 4: An accident occurred at Taylor at Main; no injury resulted. Be Sure to Lock Homes; Burglars Just Caught in Eureka

Eureka Police Department's Chief Michael Wiegand reported burglars were arrested with Christmas presents a matter of hours ago. Police encourage anyone with missing items to contact them.

After Eureka Police Chief Michael Wiegand posted an alert on Eureka-Wildwood Patch, Eureka police arrested two burglars at approximately 4 a.m. today after they stole Christmas presents from four unlocked homes. Wiegand said the burglars entered the Eureka residences while the homeowners slept. Sgt. Tom Wille said police received an alarm on one home and that an officer in the area spotted suspicious activity. "When the officer investigated, he discovered and arrested the burglars," he said. Wiegand said the burglars took electronics and gifts.  Warrants were issued for first-degree burglary and bond was set at $50,000. Wille said the two burglars were 19 and 17 years old and are from West St. Louis County.  He said they were not yet …
