Rockwood Selects Former Wentzville Superintendent for Interim Post

Terry Adams will serve as interim superintendent for one year while the district conducts a formalized search for a permanent replacement for Bruce Borchers, who will end his tenure with Rockwood June 7.

The Rockwood School Board has named former Wentzville School District leader Terry Adams as interim superintendent, effective July 1. Board President Bill Brown announced Adams’ appointment Thursday night and said he brings with him a wealth of experience in education administration. His career includes 27 years as a Missouri superintendent at districts in Rolla, Park Hills and Arcadia Valley. Adams most recently served as the chief administrator at Wentzville for the past seven years and retired this past April. Adams will replace current superintendent Bruce Borchers, who has accepted a position at the Oak Ridge School District in Tennessee after signing on with Rockwood in 2010.  The contract signed by Adams is for one year at a salary …

Rockwood Interviews Candidates for Interim Superintendent Position

The school board conducting the interviews during a closed session on Monday and hope to have the interim spot filled by July 1.

The Rockwood School Board is on track to name an interim superintendent by July 1 who will oversee district operations while the search for current Superintendent Bruce Borcher’s permanent replacement is conducted. Borchers has accepted a contract to helm the Oak Ridge School District in Tennesse, and his last day at Rockwood will be June 7. On Monday, the board met in a closed session to interview candidates for the interim appointment, which will likely last for one year, according to Chief Communications Officer Kim Cranston. “When a board decides to appoint an interim, it’s usually done fairly informally,” Cranston said. “The board is looking for an experienced, veteran superintendent.” When it comes to finding a permanent replacement…

Search for Next Rockwood Superintendent Will Take Months, Cost Money

The Rockwood School Board received tips on what they can expect during the process at a meeting last week.

The search for the next superintendent of the Rockwood School District is a process that could take months and cost around $10,000-20,000. That was part of the message delivered to the school board by Don Senti, Executive Director of the Cooperating School Districts of Greater St. Louis, who spoke to the board during a meeting April 18. The district’s current Superintendent Bruce Borches has accepted a contract to helm a district in Tennessee and his last day will be June 7. Rockwood Superintendent Bruce Borchers Accepts Tennessee School District Offer

Oak Ridge school board members approved new superintendent contract, according to Tuesday article in Oak Ridge Today newspaper.

Oak Ridge Board of Education directors in Tennessee unanimously approved a four-year contract with Bruce Borchers—currently the Rockwood School District superintendent—in a short, special meeting Monday evening, as published by a reporter for Oak Ridge Today. Borchers' salary reportedly is $178,000 per year, according to the Oak Ridge article. Bob Eby, Oak Ridge school board vice chair said in the article Borchers is slated to start in the new district on June 18. In the same article, Board of Education Chair Keys Fillauer said Borchers had signed the contract before Monday’s 10-minute school board meeting, making it official once the board approved it. Prop S Chair Says Rockwood Needed Bond Issue to Pass

VIDEO: A Ballwin resident and Rockwood School District parent says putting bond issue on ballot was right choice. She also told Board of Education directors and attendees Thursday night she feels community mistreated Superintendent Bruce Borchers.

Proposition S not passing on April 2 is "not a win for any group; this was a big loss for our district," said Rhonda Costa, Yes for Proposition S committee chair and Rockwood School District parent from Ballwin, when she addressed the district's Board of Education directors and attendees Thursday evening's board meeting at Crestview Middle School in Ellisville.  She said she was speaking Thursday night to thank Rockwood directors for putting the bond issue on the ballot. As the top candidate among three prospective finalists to become the new superintendent for Oak Ridge School District, Rockwood School District's Bruce Borchers participated in a formal meet-and-greet event Monday morning.

Rockwood School District Superintendent Bruce Borchers just met some of the good people of the Oak Ridge School District in Tennessee, at mid-day Monday during an official community event. Per the news that Patch broke in the St. Louis area, Rockwood's Superintendent Borchers Looks South for Potential New Job, Borchers may take a pay cut and move to a smaller district. The Oak Ridge Board of Education directors are slated to vote on Borchers regarding the new job yet tonight. Borchers and his family reportedly were touring the town as well today, which has an estimated population of 27,000.
