When Lafayette head coach Boyd Manne called for his field-goal team to take the field on the first possession of overtime on Friday night at Flyers Field, every member of the unit raced out to his position. The kick would, hopefully for the Lancers, give them the lead against Suburban West Conference rival Lindbergh. Every member of the team that is, except junior kicker Daniel Menees, who was still taking warmup kicks into a practice net. “I was just so focused on getting my steps right and hitting the ball good, I didn’t hear anybody say 'get out there',” Menees said. “Then all of a sudden, everybody was yelling for me to go.
