Where to Observe Black History Month at Libraries

February denotes national Black History Month. Following is a corresponding event schedule for St. Louis County library branches located in Central and West St. Louis County, including Eureka.

The story of Black History Month begins in Chicago during the late summer of 1915, according to the Association for the Study of African American Life and History. Following is a series of local events at which one can observe the annual observation.  Eureka Hills Branch, Eureka Monday, Feb. 4, 6 p.m. African Inspired Jewelry Making Workshop Come make your own African inspired jewelry with Imani Aisha Creations! In this 90-minute workshop, participants will be using the shapes of the Egyptian Ankh and Africa to make a necklace or a brooch. Paint will be used in the creation process, so please dress appropriately. Ages 7-11. Registration required.
