Memorial for Mary Emmalou Howard

Visitation for the Eureka resident will be from 12:30-8 p.m. at Schrader funeral home. Howard was killed in a car crash earlier this week.

Eureka resident Mary Emmalou Howard died Tuesday at the age of 74. She was the wife of Wilfred "Wil" Howard for 57 years and mother to Matthew (Kathy) Howard, William "Billy" (Sabrina Elliott) Howard and the late Dennis Howard.  Mrs. Howard was a member of Faith Community Church in Scottsdale, according to her funeral notice. She liked to socialize at McDonald's with friends weekly. Some of her fondest memories was spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved the challenge of crosswords puzzles and seek and find word puzzles. Every Monday evening, she and Wil attended a country/gospel, blue grass singing in Fenton. Memorial for Richard T. Johnson, Source of Delicious Desserts for Michelle's Cafe

The father of the cafe's owner, the restaurant will be closed Saturday morning to celebrate the his life at a memorial Mass at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church.

Michelle’s Café in Eureka will be closed Saturday morning to celebrate the life of the owner’s father, Rich Johnson, who died on Sunday. According to a Facebook post from Enjoy Eureka, many of the café’s patrons know Johnson by virtue of his baking prowess. For the last several years, he had supplied the restaurant with gooey butter cakes, cheese cakes, pies and many other desserts. “Rich helped make Michelle’s what they are today and his kindness, company and, of course, his desserts will be greatly missed,” it read. His obit was published in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Thursday and described him as a friend and neighbor to many who loved the Cardinals and playing golf and “became quite an accomplished baker.” He was married to his wife …

Memorial for George "Todd" Kinnikin

Visitation for this House Springs resident will be Thursday in Eureka. He was the owner of Eureka Forge.

George "Todd" Kinnikin died Tuesday, at age 67. He resided in House Springs. He was the husband of Marianne (Ebmeier). He was the father of Michael (Jennifer) Kinnikin, brother of John Kinnikin and brother-in-law of Patrice (Robert) Lane and Kathy Ebmeier. He was the proud owner of Eureka Forge. His family said he loved making Damascus knives and tending to his garden. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Schrader Funeral Home, 108 N. Central Ave. in Eureka. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m Friday at Most Sacred Heart Church of Eureka. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Brian Leigh Finlay, 47, Dies; Wildwood Orthodontist, MICDS Grad

Services are Friday and Saturday. Family thanked friends for their support "especially during the past 15 months." He died on Easter.

Brian Leigh Finlay, a Wildwood orthodontist and a graduate of Mary Institute & Country Day School, died on Easter Sunday at age 47. Family members will have a private burial on Friday and a memorial service on Saturday. According to his funeral notice, Mr. Finlay's family thanked friends "who loved and supported Brian and the family throughout his life and especially during the past 15 months." Mr. Finlay graduated from MICDS in 1984 and later graduated from Northwestern University's dental school and completing his residency in orthodontics at St. Louis University. He also had an orthodontia practice in Des Peres. Mr. Finlay and his wife Kristine would have celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in June. He is survived by his wife and …

Dr. Finlay was one of the kindest, most genuine people I have met and excellent at his work. My children already miss him. Our prayers to his family and also the wonderful staff at Finlay Orthodontics. It has been a difficult journey for all of them.   more ›

Memorial for Myrtle Johnson

This local resident was born in Wildwood, when it was considered Glencoe, and died in Pacific. Visitation will be Wednesday evening in Ballwin.

Myrtle Johnson (nee McKinnon) died Saturday. She was the wife of the late William H. Johnson. She was the mother of Jerry, Billy, Donald (Debbie) and Larry Johnson. She was the grandmother of Cheryl Johnson and Cindy Eakins. She was the great-grandmother of Devon, Nakoria and Kilian Johnson, and Dayton and Audrey Eakins. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway in Ballwin. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Schrader. Interment will be in the Bethel Cemetery in Wildwood. If desired, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Missouri. Friends may sign the family’s online guestbook.
