For students who are 16 years or older and are struggling with finishing high school for a variety of reasons, Rockwood School District offers an alternative location called the Individualized Learning Center.
Based on application and recommendations from teachers, students of this school are typically those who are credit-deficient or already have dropped out of school. The school is also designed for capable but underachieving students, and those who have overwhelming challenges in a traditional school settings. Students at the center may also be experiencing the type of personal problems that make concentrating on academics extremely difficult. Some of the center's students are parents themselves. Others may have handicaps that impede their academic progress.
ILC was designed specifically to meet the needs of at-risk students from Rockwood School District's other four high schools.
