Outdoor Music for Big Chief Restaurant Up for Final Vote Tonight

Also happening this week: the first day of school for Rockwood students and the last show in Eureka's Concerts on Central summer series.

Start your week off with this helpful list of events, notices and other happenings in Eureka, Wildwood and the surrounding area.

1) The City of Wildwood meets Monday night and will likely issue a final vote on a controversial proposal to allow limited live outdoor music at the Big Chief Restaurant. It has drawn opposition from nearby residents who say any such music will be too loud and can be heard from their backyards.

2) Students in the Rockwood School District return to class on Tuesday, but fall sports tryout camps and practices open up on Monday. If your child plans on playing, they need to have their paperwork and physicals done and out of the way before they can participate.

4) Runners will want to take note of a new 5k this year, the Foster 5’s Trail Run, sponsored by the Wildwood Family YMCA. The run takes place Aug. 31 at the Al Foster Memorial Trail, but registration is open now.
