Voice of Democracy Winners Included Eureka High Student

As school starts up again, don't forget to be on the look out for speech contests in which to enter.

This past year, Ian McSalley of took third place in the Voice of Democracy contest at the state level.

Prior to that, VFW District 12 presented Ian McSalley as District Winner of the Voice of Democracy program. He was sponsored by Eureka Memorial Post 5468, the post's first advancement to Department Level.

Editor's Note:  It was a honor to judge the local portion of the Voice of Democracy and Patriots Pen Youth Essay Contests.

This years theme for Voice of Democracy is (Grades 9 through 12);
"Is Our Constitution Still Repellant" . This years theme for Patriots Pen is (Grades 6 through 8); "What Would I Tell America's Founding Fathers?"

Ours is named, "Turpeester"... I'm sure whatever he is doing he is having a fun time, out running around... I will pray for Leo making it back to you!!! Good luck!
