A grassroots effort to establish a new library was initiated by members of The Wednesday Club in Eureka, after they surveyed attendees of the 2010 Eureka Days regarding what residents would most want in the community.

Parmer said the current library location is heavily used by people of all ages, but lacks certain functionality due to limited space. She said the vision is to establish a new location with an expanded children's area, a gathering place for teenagers, and a comprehensive adult collection.
