College Student From Wildwood Selected for Honor Society

Wildwood resident Brooke Thibodaux is busy with community service as well as college courses these days.

Leaders of the Order of Omega chapter at William Woods University in Fulton, MO, recently selected 13 new members to be a part of their elite honor society, including Brooke Thibodaux, an Alpha Chi Omega member from Wildwood.

Order of Omega is a national honor society that continues to recognize outstanding Greek members for their academics, leadership in their chapter and in the community, according to a William Woods news release.

Students eligible for Order of Omega must be in good standing with one of the Greek chapters on campus. They must maintain a grade point average above the all-Greek average and have at least 60 college credits, 30 of which from William Woods.

Thibodaux also recently was involved in a campus initiative through which William Woods students, faculty and staff donated enough food to a local organization to make 570 meals for people in need.

In a competition between residence halls, William Woods students collected more than 600 items, totaling about 420 pounds. The hall collecting the most was Lambert Hall, which is the Alpha Chi Omega chapter house associated wtih Thibodaux.

The student food drive was sponsored by Residential Life, Panhellenic Council and the Social Work Club. The competition carried with it a chance to win a $50 gift card to Walmart.

“I thought we did well,” said Thibodaux, Panhellenic president, in a William Woods news release. “I hope next year everyone gets even more excited and helps out families who may need our help.”

“I was blown away by the amount of support Serve received,” said Devin Bain, president of the Social Work Club. “I was so impressed by the amount of participation and look forward to having this continue in the future.”
