Session 2013 – Capitol Report XIV: Preserving a Legacy of Freedom

The world recently lost a strong champion of freedom - Margaret Thatcher. The House is preserving this great legacy by protecting religious liberties, Second Amendment freedoms, and privacy rights.

Last week, the news broke that former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher had passed away at the age of 87.  As a young man, I often saw her speeches, debates, and accomplishments brazen across the headlines of the daily newspapers and nightly newscasts.  She was a remarkable woman – a champion of the free market and conservatism.  One of my favorite clips of her came near the end of her term as Prime Minister and I would encourage you to watch it by clicking here

Nixon Administration Confirms Sharing Data with Feds

House Supports Basic Rights

This week the Missouri House advanced another piece of legislation to enhance your Second Amendment rights with HB 533, sponsored by Representative Jeanie Riddle (R-49). This bill grants state employees the right to store a firearm in their vehicle on state property, as long as the vehicle is locked and the firearm out of sight. Click here to read more.

House Urges Koster to Protect Missourian’s Religious Liberties

The Missouri House took action this week to encourage Attorney General Chris Koster to act in the best interest of Missourians by protecting their religious freedoms and conscience rights pursuant to the First Amendment. Click here to read more.
