Four Keys To a Perfectly Placed Pantry

It's a perfect time to get your pantry organized for the summer.

It's a great time to get your pantry organized! Here are my tips.

1. Sort your pantry items into categories. Think about how a grocery store is laid out. Now imagine trying to grocery shop if all of the items were randomly placed when they were unpacked. Every grocery store is laid out a little differently, but there is a logic to what things are placed next to each other. You want the same to be true of your pantry.

 2. Label, label, label. Label your pantry so you know where to find things and can remember where to put things away. Labels keep everyone in the family on the same page and give authority to an area.

 3. Create boundaries. Using baskets or defined areas helps you know how much is enough.

 4. Prioritize and strategize with placement. Prioritize: Not everything will be able to be conveniently placed so pick the items you use most often to be at eye level. Strategize: If you want your kids to be able to get their own cereal, place that on a low shelf. If you donʼt want them to notice the candy or desserts, place those up high.
