Fire Up for Fireworks Near Eureka

The annual fireworks stand located just outside Eureka along Missouri Route 109 south in Jefferson County opened Wednesday at midnight. Find out how long it will remain open for business.

Location manager Mary Corbett said they are able to sell fireworks at the tent through July 10, per Missouri laws. The stand will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for customers until that time. They offer products that originate from the Arnold, MO-based Fireworks City company.

Fireworks inside a huge, new tent, and tables located on flat asphalt rather than gravel, await customers. The stand has a clean, organized look. Baby Boomers, Avalanche, Great Big Melons, Who's That Noisy and Feud are just of the names of the packages available.

Corbett said a new shopping feature is that the Dominators-produced items have bar codes through which customers can immediately scan to get product details.

Editor's Note: Remember the sale, use and possession of fireworks in St. Louis County is illegal. In Franklin, Jefferson and St. Charles counties, the use and sale of fireworks is permitted, although a few municipalities within the region have ordinances that prohibit them.

Corbett said some of this year's new fireworks include:

  • Mammoth Strobe Mini (six shots and strobes in the air) for $37.95 per package
  • Star Charger for $57.95 per package
  • Giant Willows, which are like the ones that hang in the air
  • Theatrical Thunder, 10 shots
  • Hot Plunge flaming balls (16-shot artillery shells), which is buy one/buy get one free
  • Cyber Sticks, which are huge Roman candles that have 1,405 shots, sold at $16.95

For more traditional applications, items such as the Grand Ole Flag also are available.

Fireworks City staffers accept payment via cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express; no checks.
