Eureka's July Concert On Central Headlines The New Wave

Eureka's third of four summer concert will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on July 19 on Central Avenue. Parking on the street will be limited after 4 p.m. and Central will close between Dryer and West Frisco at 6 p.m. for the concert.

Eureka's next summer concert event is Friday and will feature '80s music from The New Wave, a four-man St. Louis based band that covers music from the new wave music movement.

Some of the band's songlist includes covers of Kids In America, White Wedding and Jessie's Girl, in addition to songs from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Joan Jett, The Clash and The Ramones.

Eureka's Concert On Central series is held on Central Avenue on the third Friday of each month, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., May through August.

Food and beverages are available from local businesses, while no glass bottles or animals are allowed in the closed-off area on Central Avenue between Dryer and West Frisco Avenues.

Parking on Central Avenue is limited after 4 p.m. on concert nights and Central is closed around the concert area starting at 6 p.m. to prepare for the concert. Previous events with Eureka's Concerts On Central have received mixed reviews, both praising and criticizing the monthly concerts.
