Your Chance to Volunteer at the Endangered Wolf Center

The Endangered Wolf Center is holding a Volunteer Open House this Saturday, March 23, and hopes that you'll join our team.

The Endangered Wolf Center has a solid lineup of volunteers, and considers them essential to the organization and its mission. But we need many more, because there's lots of work to be done.

On Saturday, March 23, the Center will hold a Volunteer Open House, starting at 11 a.m. Education Coordinator Ashley Rearden and Education Assistant Karen Nichols will outline the many opportunities that are available.

Volunteers are needed for tasks such as working in the office, raking leaves, cutting and stacking firewood and painting. Volunteers also help staff our Campfire Wolf Howls and Wine & Cheese Wolf Howls. And they help out at special events, like Trivia Night, Polo, Holiday Boutique, Members' Day and Wolf Fest, our annual open house.

Volunteers who get extra training also shadow and lead many of our daytime tours and evening howls. Volunteers with the gift of howling like a wolf get to do so at the howls, which usually results in the real wolves responding with their own chorus.

If you are interested in volunteering at the Endangered Wolf Center, please RSVP to Ashley Rearden at arearden@endangeredwolfcenter.org or by calling 636-938-5900 to say that you'll be at the Volunteer Open House this Saturday.

This is a chance to help an organization in your own backyard with a mission that's vital to the world -- preserving and reintroducing to the wild endangered Mexican gray wolves and red wolves. The Mexican gray is the Earth's most endangered wolf. We hope to see you Saturday and that you'll become part of our team.
