Play "Wolf Turf" at St. Louis Earth Day

Kids of all ages can learn about the dynamics of a wolf pack, specifically about keeping it well-fed, by playing “Wolf Turf” this Sunday, April 21, at the Endangered Wolf Center’s booth at St. Louis Earth Day.

The Endangered Wolf Center, located in Eureka, will be at the festival in Forest Park from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. St. Louis Earth Day is free and open to the public.

Karen Nichols, the Center’s Education assistant, aided by junior volunteers, will be explaining the rules and running the “Wolf Turf” game.  

Meanwhile, Education Coordinator Ashley Rearden will share information about the Center’s vital mission of preserving and protecting Mexican gray wolves, red wolves and other wild canid species. Items from the Center’s Gift Shop will be available for purchase.

St. Louis Earth Day’s website, earthdaystlouis.org, says it is the third-largest Earth Day celebration in the nation. St. Louis’ first Earth Day festival was in 1989.

The Endangered Wolf Center’s booth will be in the festival’s “Nature & Wildlife” Neighborhood, on the grounds of the Muny in Forest Park.
