Lafayette Football Team Defeats Lindbergh
It was a 24-21 overtime thriller. Lancers kicker Daniel Menees connects on 27-yard field goal to clinch victory over host Flyers.
Lafayette junior Daniel Menees blasted home a 27-yard field goal on the first possession of overtime, then watched as his teammates on defense held off host Lindbergh for a thrilling 24-21 victory for the Lancers at Flyers Field.
Lindbergh led by a touchdown with just under four minutes left in regulation, but Lafayette’s Deonte Robinson scored on a two-yard run, and Menees added the extra-point to tie the score at 21.
Flyers senior quarterback Peter Simpson threw two touchdown passes in the losing effort, while his counterpart, Lafayette senior Dominic Bisesi connected on a scoring toss of his own and also led the Lancers on its game-tying drive in the final minutes of regulation play.
