Great Crowd Gets Their Kicks on Route 66 5K Run/Walk

Despite the brisk cold, many participated in the 10th annual Route 66 5K Run/Walk in Wildwood on Nov. 6.

More than 200 participants registered for the 10th annual 5K Run/Walk, which was hosted today by Wildwood city officials.

"We had good attendance this year," said Gary Crews, Wildwood superintendent of parks and recreation.

The event, which started and ended at Wildwood Middle School, 17401 Manchester Road, drew a combination of serious runners and casual participants.  They followed a path on the Historic Route 66 at their own pace.
