First-Ever Youth Football League to be Hosted in Chesterfield

Registration is being held now until Feb. 22. Volunteer coaches also are needed.

The following information was provided by Chesterfield city managers. 

Chesterfield representatives, in partnership with NFL Flag representatives, will host the first-ever Chesterfield Parks and Recreation Youth Flag Football League at the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex this spring.

This program is for kids ages 5-12, and leagues will be divided by age and gender. Practices will begin the week of March 10, and games will start the first weekend of April. All games will be played on Saturdays; rainouts will be played on Sundays.

This is a recreational league designed to enable every child to play, regardless of skill. The goal is for all participants to have fun and learn the game of football. Emphasis will be made on team play, cooperation, good sportsmanship, courtesy, respect to all players, coaches, officials, coordinators, and parents, according to the city's materials.
