Eureka Softball Team Wins in Rain
Eureka High girls' varsity softball players were victors Friday afternoon over Parkway West High.
Despite the drizzle that turned into a stronger rain downpour at the onset of the girls' varsity softball game on Friday afternoon between Eureka and Parkway West high schools, both team's pitchers kept going—even when they had to hang towels from their uniforms and dry their hand and ball before each pitch.
team pulled away with a 16-1 victory at the third inning, invoking the "run ahead rule" that prompts games to be stopped for early endings.
Eureka plays in the Jaguar Invitational on Saturday at the Arnold Athletic Association.
