Drury Baseball Player from Eureka Progresses after Skateboarding Accident
Michael Bigogno, a Drury University baseball player from Eureka, still is recovering post-surgery from head trauma received in a skateboarding accident on May 19 in Springfield, MO. Coach Mark Stratton provides updates.
Former baseball player, Michael Bigogno, has been moved to a transitional area in a Springfield, MO, hospital as part of his recovery from head trauma occurring from a skateboard accident last month. He received surgery 24 hours after the incident.

Drury University baseball coach Mark Stratton told Patch Bigogno is not quite back to a regular hospital floor, but is doing better. "We are praying and hoping that happens soon," he emailed.

On May 26, Stratton emailed: "We are at an impasse with Michael. While his intercranial pressure seems to be stabilizing...other benchmark reactions that the medical staff would like to see have not been noted...still critical...Thanks for the continued prayers."
On May 31, Stratton emailed that Bigogno was breathing on his own, and moving his arms and legs. He said Bigogno continues to make daily progress.
On June 3, Stratton emailed Bigogno is making great strides...he has been moved out of NEURO ICU...as he continues his progression back to good health.
Bigogno is a junior majoring in education at Drury University. He is an outfielder on Drury's Panther baseball team.
