Anyone Know Good Fields for Lacrosse?

At a recent board meeting, Eureka board of aldermen discussed a request regarding fields needed for Eureka lacrosse players. Availability is challenging.

Next year, at least 160 boys on the Eureka-based lacrosse club are seeking fields on which they can practice and play their sport. At a recent board meeting, Eureka board of alderman Don Beckerle, Ward 3, said he received a request from the chair of the lacrosse club to help find suitable fields.

"They have Eureka and Wildwood boys ready to play, and they'd like to expand to girls' lacrosse, as well," said Beckerle.

He said the club team has practiced at Buder Park in Fenton and in Wildwood. They discussed using the fields provided free of charge by the to the Eureka area football and rugby teams. "But the fields are so torn up from rugby, the lacrosse athletes couldn't play on them because they need a smoother pitch," said Beckerle.
