About Route 66 Senior Center

Route 66 Senior Center is a nonprofit organization that provides meals, activities, Meals on Wheels, and other services to seniors in our community. These are vital services that many seniors rely on everyday. Route 66 Senior Center is just one of many senior centers throughout St. Louis County, Jefferson County, and Franklin County, that Mid-East Area Agency on Aging oversees. Our mission: Assisting adults through the journey of aging. We are open Monday- Friday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Some of the “no cost” activities offered at the Center are: nutritionally balanced lunch each day, movie Monday’s twice a month, live music every Wednesday, bingo every Friday, Holiday and Birthday parties, Wii games, quilting, health screenings, tax preparation, educational information, and transportation.

The Meals on Wheels program brings nutritionally balanced meals to eligible home bound seniors. This service not only provides what may be the only meal some seniors eat in a day, it also provides them a face to face contact with a person each day. We believe this a vital service in our community.

On Wednesdays and Fridays we offer transportation to and from our center through OATS. This service is available for anyone age 60 and older.

Because Route 66 Senior Center does not charge for their services we rely heavily on volunteers and donations. Volunteers are essential to the success of the center. Our volunteer’s help with clerical work, packing meals for delivery, delivering meals, teaching classes, planning activities, and raising funds.
