Rockwood Superintendent Looks Forward

Superintendent Bruce Borchers said the 2011-2012 Rockwood School District school year had a splendidly smooth start.

Rockwood School District superintendent Bruce Borchers told attendees at Thursday's board of education meeting this school year launched with "an absolute smooth start."

Borchers, as well as some adminstrators and board of directors, conducted a two-day tour of all schools this week.

"We had a wonderful start of a school year in each of the buildings," he said, citing that he enjoyed checking and seeing how each of the launches were a little different.

The amount of time the Rockwood staff puts into having a great school year launch speaks to the positive effects it has, Borchers said. "It truly is a team effort."

A video from the two-day tour was shown at the meeting. It included clips of students on buses, parents saying goodbye, teachers and students helping other students find their classrooms, as well as Borchers meeting with parents and talking to students—including the very tall superintendent joining kindergarteners in their very small chairs.
