Rockwood Consultants' Contracts Secured

Attached are the 2010-2011 contractual agreements between Minnesota-based educational consultants and Rockwood School District representatives.

Eureka-Wildwood Patch secured copies of the consulting contracts between representatives and Randy Smasal and Nancy DuBois, as well as their expenses from earlier this school year.

Patch readers indicated interest in desiring to see the contracts as part of their attempt to better under details related to the recent hirings of the consultants to two Rockwood administrative positions.

Rockwood Board of Education vice president Janet Strate confirmed that standard contracts for superintendents in Missouri is three years. Board president Steve Smith verified that Rockwood Superintendent Bruce Borchers' original contract was for three years. "A year into that contract, it was extended for a year, leaving it at three years," he said.

Addition to this article at 4:44 p.m.: Patch confirmed with Rockwood School District sources that of the 40 candidates for the associate superintendent job, three were interviewed. Of the 53 candidates for the executive director of learning, three also were interviewed. Travel expenses for out-of-state candidates only were reimbursed by the district, if those candidates were hired.
