Missouri Majority Floor Leader Wants to Form Interim Education Committee

Rep. Tim Jones of Eureka hopes a special education committee can be formed with a group of legislators, due to so many state education issues and challenges to address, as reported in Missourinet.

On the heels of Missouri's 520 school districts being notified about gyrating funds they will receive for the 2012-2013 school year as a managers, Majority Floor Leader Tim Jones, R-Eureka, told a Missourinet reporter he would like to see an interim committee formed to work on education issues.

Jones, a resident, told reporter Mike Lear the state's foundation formula for public school funding will be a vital issue during the 2013 legislative session; however, he also wants to see tuition tax credits and teacher tenure addressed.
