Meet Rockwood Interim Superintendent Dr. Terry Adams

Dr. Terry Adams will serve as the interim Rockwood superintendent for one year, while the district formally searches for a permanent replacement to fill the position vacated by Bruce Borchers.

Rockwood's interim superintendent Dr. Terry Adams took up his new role within the school district at the beginning of July.

Formerly the chief administrator of the Wentzville School District, Adams accepted the role of interim superintendent instead of planning for retirement after resigning from Wentzville in April.

“I am honored to serve Rockwood in this role,” Dr. Adams said in the school district's July newsletter. “There are so many good things happening in this district; I’m excited for the year ahead.”

People interested in learning more about Dr. Terry Adams can check out his Rockwood biography online. Adams has worked in various education roles throughout Missouri since 1975, according to the online biography, and received several distinguished professional educator awards.

The Rockwood superintendent position opened after Bruce Borchers accepted a position to lead the Oak Ridge School District in Tennesse. The Rockwood School Board interviewed candidates as Borchers finished out his position with the district, which ended June 7, and near the end of May the Board announced that Adams would serve as the district's leader during the interim.
