Local Football Players Named as Suburban West Football All-Conference 2010 Designees

Eureka High and Lafayette High football players earn 30 percent of the overall awards.

Sean Strehl, a Eureka High School senior, was recognized as the most valuable offensive player in the Suburban West Football All-Conference 2010 designations. 

Overall, and varsity football players earned 29.6 percent of the 81 awards provided in this year's All- Conference program.

Making the All-Conference first team were:  Matt Ward, a Eureka senior and kicker; Sean Strehl, a Eureka senior and quarterback; Chase Bollinger, a Eureka senior and wide receiver, Andy McNeel, a Eureka junior and tight end; Larrye Minner, a Eureka senior and offensive lineman; Kyle Woodsmall, a Lafayette senior and offensive lineman; Chase Bollinger, a Eureka senior and defensive back; Al Nesbit, a Lafayette senior and defensive back; Nate Echard, a Eureka sophomore and linebacker; Jimmy DeStefano, a Lafayette senior and linebacker, Sherman Hall, a Eureka senior and defensive lineman.

Players listed for the All-Conference second team were:  Sean Strehl, a Eureka senior and punter; William DuPont, a Lafayette junior and returner as well as wide receiver; Spencer Stein, a Eureka junior and running back; Ryan Guccione, a Lafayette senior and offensive lineman; Jack Weber, a Eureka senior and linebacker; and Devin Stennis, a Lafayette senior and defensive lineman.

Named to the All-Conference third team were:  Max Zaun, a Lafayette senior and kicker; Aaron Schnurbusch, a Eureka junior and wide receiver; Brock Behrndt, a Lafayette junior and tight end; Rob Cidlik, a Eureka junior and offensive lineman; Khayhil Moore, a Lafayette junior and defensive back; and Clayton Echard, a Eureka senior and defensive lineman.

Eureka, with approximately 1,930 enrolled students this year, switched from the Suburban South to the Suburban West conference this school year.

Eureka's football team played in the District 1 division this year, along with Fox High School, Northwest High School and Oakville High School.

Lafayette's football team played in the District 3 division this year, along with Christian Brothers College High School, Marquette High School, and Parkway South High School.
